Fieke Mestdagh

Fieke is a Belgian holistic healthcare practitioner living at the foot of the Jeseníky mountains in northern Czechia.

As a passionate practitioner, she is dedicated to continuously evolving and supporting her clients through an individualised holistic approach. When she is not consulting in her clinic, you’ll find her making plant medicines, exploring local forests, foraging medicinal plants or crafting gut-loving ferments

Driven by her true nomadic spirit, Fieke has explored fascinating places across the globe. During her time in the Swiss Alps, she hosted weekly medicinal plant walks and holistic health workshops under the name Out in the Forest.

As a Belgian living in the Czech Republic, she feels honoured and grateful to be a practicing herbalist in a region rich with a deep-rooted tradition of plant medicine.

An Energetic
Healthcare Approach

Fieke’s clinical practice merges holistic herbal medicine with nuanced diagnostic tools originating from Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurvedic medicine.

Rather than simply matching herbs to symptoms, she applies an energetic framework to assess the body’s underlying imbalance, allowing for herbal remedies to be custom formulated to her clients.

Her approach treats the person as a whole, assessing physical, mental, and spiritual well-being, while incorporating dietary recommendations, lifestyle adjustments, herbal medicine, and custom mineral rebalancing protocols to support both acute and chronic health conditions.

Through a functional medicine lens and an approach backed up by clinical naturopathy & scientific research, Fieke empowers clients with the knowledge and tools to take charge of their own well-being, enhancing long-lasting benefits.

EXPERIENCE

Fieke’s expertise is built on formal herbal medicine education from various institutes and teaching centers, combined with extensive clinical training. She is a registered naturopath and clinical herbalist, and a practitioner member of the Association of Naturopathic Practitioners, The Czech Naturopathic Society and the Flemish Herbalist Association. Much of her education has been under teachers outside of Europe, as Clinical Herbalism is still developing within European culture.

She continues her clinical apprenticeship and mentorship under experienced herbalists and naturopaths, including Sheila Kenneally, ND (Holistic Health by Sheila), Poppy Burr, BSc MCPP (The Hormone Herbalist), and Colleen Emery, Cl.H (RHT) (Emery Herbals).

Fieke offers in-person and online consultations at Root Cause Herbals and is also a consulting practitioner as part of Sheila Kenneally’s team.

A passionate language learner, Fieke primarily conducts consultations in English, but Dutch, German, Spanish, French, and Portuguese can be integrated as needed.
