Our Approach

In Clinical Herbalism we look beyond the symptoms, and consider the whole person. What is happening in the body that might be causing these symptoms? What is going on in the client’s life, relationships, or their environment that might be contributing?

Rather than simply “using this herb for that symptom”, we take a truly holistic approach, one that considers body, mind, and spirit. By understanding each person’s unique constitution, we work towards identifying and addressing the underlying root cause or energetic imbalance.

Imagine a person as a tree. The branches represent the visible, notable symptoms someone might be experiencing. Modern medicine often focuses on suppressing or relieving these symptoms with the use of prescription medicine. In contrast, a holistic approach nurtures the entire tree, focusing on improving foundational health. Through working together one-on-one, we focus on restoring overall balance and vitality, not only relieving symptoms, but supporting long-term well-being by addressing the deeper root cause of health concerns.

Custom
Herbal Medicines

Long-term herbal medicines are formulated to address the underlying pattern of imbalances and are focused on addressing the primary health concerns. A long term formula is typically recommended for a min. duration of 3 months and will be adjusted after each follow-up consultation. Additional short-term or acute remedies may be provided if indicated.

Herbal protocols can exist out of different types of herbal medicines: herbal tinctures, infusions, decoctions, powdered extracts or topical applications.

Supplements &
Mineral Rebalancing

Existing supplement protocols are evaluated and modified to match the need of the client. Daily dosages may be adjusted and additional recommendations included if indicated.

To ensure the supplement protocol benefits foundational health, Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA) may be recommended to further support holistic well-being. HTMA is an affordable diagnostic test that reveals the client’s individual mineral status over a 3-month period. Deficiencies in essential minerals, imbalanced ratios and exposure to harmful environmental elements may underlie chronic imbalances affecting all body systems.

Diet & Lifestyle
Recommendations

To support the client’s progress, specific dietary recommendations and nutritional guidelines are provided in the form of easy, creative recipes that ensure appropriate nutrition that promote overall well-being and are adjusted on the client’s dietary preferences.

Lifestyle advice may include various practices such as menstrual cycle tracking, stress reduction techniques like yoga and meditation, as well as referrals for additional medical testing, physical therapies, body alignment or talk therapies.
